Increase Asthma Preventive Care Use Among Black and Latino Patients

SmartAirLA’s FightAsthma Coach catalyzes asthma preventive care use and self-management among underserved Black and Latino patients with severe asthma.
Enrollment of asthma home visits jumped by 180% among Black and Latino adult patients and parents of pediatric patients with severe asthma when they received SmartAirLA’s FightAsthma Coach phone text.
The FightAsthma Coach phone text is an interactive English and Spanish text message that provides culturally tailored nudges to improve asthma self-management.
